SCHOOL TOURS

Bushy Run’s field trip program is designed to teach students about the aftermath of the French and Indian War and present the details of the Battle of Bushy Run. Our programming encourages students of all ages to engage with history hands-on and gain a better understanding of the different cultures and peoples associated with our site.

TWO PROGRAMMING OPTIONS CURRENTLY EXIST FOR VISITING SCHOOL GROUPS.

The first option includes a guided tour of the battlefield and museum and a possible musket firing demonstration by a ranger reenactor.

The second option offers both guided tours, a possible musket firing demonstration, and additional activities such as a fur trading presentation, a Scottish bagpiping demonstration, a Bushy Run storytelling corner, and/or a hands-on fur trading game that prompts the students to reenact their own fur trade with their peers.

All activities and programs are based on the availability of our volunteers and reenactors.Specific activities and curriculum within both programming options are adapted to meet the needs of visiting students and adults of all ages.

COSTS:

Option 1: $4.00 per student and $5.00 per adult

Option 2: $6.00 per student and $5.00 per adult

For adult groups, the cost is $4.00 or $6.00 per participant.
