History Speaks Series
HISTORY SPEAKS SERIES
History Speaks is Bushy Run’s educational lecture series. Guests join us in the museum on four evenings each year to teach us about wide-ranging topics relating the 18th Century history of our site. Tickets are $15 for General Admission and $10 for members of the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society.
The British Empire and Yoga
BRBHS educator Scott Perry will join us for a unique historical presentation. As Pontiac’s War raged in North America, similar rebellions against the British Empire sprung up across the planet. Scott Perry will teach us about the British crackdown on indigenous practices, including yoga, in the crown jewel of their colonial possessions — India. The talk will be followed by a modern-day yoga demonstration. If you would like to participate in the demonstration, please bring a yoga mat or small blanket.
Tickets are available online and at the door. Members of the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society receive a discount! Click here to get your tickets now.
The History of Lacrosse with Leon Sam Briggs
On June 19th, Leon Sam Briggs joined us at Bushy Run Battlefield to talk about the history of lacrosse in it’s role in modern Native American communities. Leon is an educator and activist currently working as the historical reproduction specialist at the Fort LeBouef French and Indian War Museum in Waterford, PA.
