Colonial soldiers were known to hammer their musket balls into crude dice for playing games such as Hazard, a favorite tavern game at the time of the American Revolution. Although gambling games may have met with disapproval from many early Americans, dice were nonetheless a common item on household inventories and many boardgames called for a pair of dice for play. These dice are cast of lead-free pewter to resemble closely in size and weight the soldiers' handmade lead dice. For adults and children 8 years of age and older.
