A History of the Indian Wars and Related Events Along the Upper Ohio is the subtitle. The Ohio River was the scene of one of greatest territorial struggles between the early settlers and the Indians. The Indians, who had been continuously pushed westward by unscrupulous treaties and the victors of the Revolutionary War, had made the Ohio River their last stand. Although several treaties had been signed giving up the rights to the lands along the Ohio, the Indians continued to see this as the line of demarcation between the whites and themselves. Intrusion into the Ohio country frequently meant death or captivity. William Garbarino ISBN 0-9671014-3-3 Soft cover
