In 1763, Colonel Henry Bouquet wrote these words describing the first moments of the Battle of Bushy Run. Today, the two-day battle is recognized as one of America's pivotal conflicts. This fast-paced video brings to life the action of August 5th and 6th, 1763, by using Native American and British re-enactors to dramatically re-create the battle. Drawing on the letters of Colonel Henry Bouquet, the video explains the decisive role that the Battle of Bushy Run played in the Native American uprising known as Pontiac's War. With the British victory over the Native Americans at Bushy Run, the west was opened for Colonial settlement - and the face of the frontier was changed forever.
